“It has always been a challenge for me to prove myself in a field where the majority are males.”

Titan ICT understands the importance of creating an inclusive environment that supports women in engineering, such as one of our ICT consultants, Raghda (pictured). Supporting them to succeed and reach their career goals is key, as it’s the power and passion of women like Raghda that’s required to inspire the next generation of female engineers.

In Raghda’s words, “It has always been a challenge for me to prove myself in a field where the majority are males. I feel passionate about inspiring other females to be engineers as I believe in the valuable influence of women in the engineering profession. Females need to be aware of the engineering work and consider engineering as a field of study.”

‘Engineers Australia’ have recently undertaken a study identifying the greatest barrier keeping women from careers in engineering, is a lack of education of the profession. The research proves that many students, particularly girls don’t fully understand the role of an engineer or what studying engineering entails.

Raghda was welcomed with open arms when she joined the Titan team in June 2022. She recently made a site visit to complete a site survey in southern Western Australia, something she has wanted to do for a significant part of her career. “I mentioned to my manager that I wanted to go to site and as soon as an opportunity arose, he invited me along.”

“I’m truly grateful for the support & motivation I have received from my Titan family since I started. Titan is always keen to provide opportunities to learn & grow and help me in my career development.”

We are proud to mentor Raghda and support her in pursuing her passions by encouraging all young women who are interested in engineering to explore the opportunities available and seek out mentorship and support. Together we can help break down the barriers that have traditionally kept women from pursuing a career in engineering to creative a more diverse and dynamic workforce.
